1948 Talbot Lago T26 Antem
*SOLD*
VIN: 101001 (Chassis No.)
Odometer: 25861+ (km)
Engine: 4,483cc (4.5L) I6
Trans.: 4-speed Wilson "pre-selector"
This Talbot Lago T26 Cabriolet (by Antem) was originally built in France. It had an older French restoration prior to the previous London based ownership. The former owner stripped the car back to bare metal and did a couple of minor repairs. It was then repainted in the original color.
The interior was re-upholstered to a very high standard. At the owner's request, a sound system with amp/tuner was installed in a specially built console between the seats.
During the restoration, the engine bay refreshed, and chrome redone.
Antem had a peculiar system on some of their cars where the fender sides would fold up to allow easier access to the engine. But the system was flawed inasmuch as the fenders never lined up properly, and they tended to move around as the car moved. While in restoration, the fenders were welded, and the gaps were lead filled. The result is perfect and even today, there are no cracks.
The car has seen little use but is regularly serviced and driven.
